about

"Sham" tackles the issues of reflections, reality, and disappointment – all in a very joyful way. The video for this song uses a lot of mirror effects, and so does the syntax of the lyrics. This track is about what you believe you see in others and what you think they see in you, what you want to look like and what you want others to be deep inside. There's always a huge gap between the projections people have of others and their reality. I guess when you try to define people in one way or another based on what you think they should be, and then you define yourself in light of these projections, the result is bound to be disastrous. You end up with a mess in which truth gets lost, a super complex "you define me defining you" kind of mood. And then various stuff starts to explode. Not only metaphorically. This is what "Sham" is about, I guess. Stuff exploding not only metaphorically.

lyrics

When you come to your final bliss
Will you remember this?
The land of nowhere

Dancing like it’s not fair
Will the fun ever end?
Let’s pretend we are friends
Come with all you have
Burning my human heart

We spoke like we were for real
The island of all bright ideals
Falling in love with yourself
What a good way to start your stay
I wanna hear what you’ve seen
I wanna find out where you’ve been
Kissing like parties were just a sham
Why should I lose all I am?

Growing till you can’t see
The beauties that you feel
Losing myself in you
Anything I can do
The age of feeling blue
Do you think we are through?
Why make it harder?
Losing feels much better
